The careers of fluid power engineers are evolving as much as the hydraulic and pneumatic systems they are developing. Hybrid work environments have become more commonplace for many and the need for technological knowledge beyond traditional fluid power systems is increasing.
To get a better sense of the current state of engineering careers, Power & Motion is conducting its annual Salary & Career Survey in conjunction with affiliate publications at Endeavor Business Media focused on the design and engineering space Machine Design, Electronic Design, Microwaves & RF, Vision Systems Design, Laser Focus World and Military & Aerospace Electronics.
With this survey we hope to gain a better perspective on the challenges facing engineering professionals, technologies which are making way into the industry as well as salaries for engineers at various professional levels.
Questions in this year's survey include:
- Which technologies are having a major impact on your designs?
- What professional issues keep you up at night?
- How much is artificial intelligence and machine learning impacting your job?
To provide your insights on these and other questions, you can take the survey through October 11 at surveymonkey.com/r/PMT_SS24.
Results from the survey will then be shared later in October with our audience and input into our Salary Comparison Tool for Engineers which allows users to see how their salary compares with other engineers in the U.S. The tool allows filtering by title, location, length of time in the industry and more to help provide a proper comparison.
And if you have thoughts on the current state of engineering in the hydraulics and pneumatics sector, or just overall engineering industry, you'd like to share directly, you can reach out to me at any time at [email protected].
