The NFPA's Industry & Economic Outlook Conference will give members of the supply chain insight about the pulse of the industry

Conference Addresses “Trumpanomics,” Global Fluid Power Industry

May 2, 2017
Afternoon seminars will be split into two tracks for mobile and industrial markets.

Once again, the NFPA will hold its Industry & Economic Outlook Conference (IEOC) serving a wide audience of visitors participating in the fluid power supply chain. From Aug. 15-16, NFPA members and non-members alike are invited to the Westin Chicago Northshore, Wheeling, Ill., to network and receive comprehensive updates on the economic and technological pulse of the fluid power market. An invitational golf tournament and welcome reception will take place Monday, Aug. 14 starting at noon.

The event will host a panel of experts presenting data and trends that generate insight into domestic and global fluid power markets. Economists like Alan Beaulieu from ITR Economics will discuss U.S. macroeconomics and market outlook, followed by John Walker from Oxford Economics discussing “Trumpanomics” and its potential influences on global growth. A technology Roadmap Forum will be held in conjunction with lunch.

Seminars will be split into two tracks for mobile and industrial markets. The Mobile Outlook Session will include forecasts on heavy truck markets, construction machinery, and agricultural machinery, while the Industrial Outlook Session will cover opportunities in the industrial market place, a market overview, and a global outlook for machinery production and capital expenditure in industrial automation.

The event will also include invitation-only networking events that cater to groups including “Future Leaders,” executives, and management for the International Fluid Power Expo.

The final day will kick off with an IEOC Networking Breakfast and Pneumatic, Distributor, and Supplier Council meetings. Starting at 8:30 a.m., visitors can attend seminars analyzing energy and metals commodities, fluid power customer markets, and the forecast for the fluid power industry. An address from the Economic and Statistics Committee will serve as the concluding seminar open to all visitors.

Registration fees are $945 for employees of NFPA member companies and $2,020 for individuals in non-member companies. Registration for invited guests of member companies is $1,120, and registration is $795 for those in member companies who register before July 14.

Fees related to the IEOC Welcome Reception are included in the greens fees for those IEOC attendees who are golfing at the IEOC Invitational Golf Tournament.  IEOC attendees who are not golfing may attend the IEOC Welcome Reception for a fee of $60.
