As it prepares to move into its new 140,000-ft2 headquarters by mid-year, hose assembly provider Pirtek USA is also upgrading its organization via ISO 9001 certification. The International Organization for Standardization’s (ISO) standard for quality and regulatory compliance covers processes, documentation, and the work environment. Based on a methodology of “plan-do-check-act,” the standard is designed to help companies organize their processes, become more efficient, and continually improve. It sets standards for management responsibilities, proper documentation, analysis, resource management, and work environment. ISO 9001 also covers product delivery, beginning with the design stage. The certification expires after a year.
“One of the clear benefits of working toward this standard is that it presents us with an attainable goal and it creates a quality awareness among our team members,” said Dan Perry, president and COO of Pirtek. The company specializes in hydraulic and industrial hose replacement sales and services. It has 75 franchises and a fleet of mobile service vehicles throughout the United States. Globally, Pirtek has more than 400 locations and 2,000 mobile service vehicles in 23 countries.
