Technics Assembly & Test to Produce AF Automazione Automated Assembly and Test Systems
Technics Assembly & Test, LLC, a developer of test stands for fluid power systems, has partnered with AF Automazione to produce its automated assembly and test systems for hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders.
Technics Assembly & Test will produce the AF Automazione machines at its facility located in Bollingbrook, IL, helping to make them more readily available for customers in the U.S. and Canada. The company will also provide support from initial concept development to installation and beyond.
As AF Autommazione is based in Italy, this partnership will allow it to provide more localized production and service for customers in the North America region which enables faster delivery and support.
Automated Assembly and Test Machines Benefit Production of Fluid Power Products
According to AF Automazione, many manufacturers and repair centers for hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders are working with outdated machines. This can lead to potential issues when testing and assembling cylinders, such as less accuracy or increased maintenance which can impact productivity.
In addition, many companies in this sector — like so many others — are experiencing a shortage of skilled workers, impacting productivity as well.
However, implementing automated machines for cylinder assembly and testing can help overcome these challenges while allowing manufacturers to meet growing demand for their products. In an interview with Power & Motion, Ken Baker, CEO of Bailey International, noted the investments his company was making in cylinder production because of the market opportunities the company sees going forward for these and other hydraulic components.
With automated machines like AF Automazione’s, it is possible to improve the manufacture and quality of goods. Use of software and algorithms in automated machines enable more precise and consistent production, minimizing errors or possible rework. And because these machines are less dependent on human labor, they can work at any hour during the day, helping to maintain productivity for cylinder manufacturers.
Removing the human element can also improve comfort and safety, and frees up personnel to focus on more important tasks that require their expertise.
Several OEMs and cylinder manufacturers in Europe are utilizing the company’s technology, and it sees the partnership with Technics Assembly & Test helping to further expand its customer base in the U.S. and Canada.
By bringing together both companies’ expertise with fluid power systems, they will be able to ensure the right testing and assembly solution is provided which meets cylinder manufacturers’ various requirements.
