Sun Hydraulics, part of Helios Technologies Inc., has further expanded its line of counterbalance valves with the introduction of the 0-Series. Designed to offer a high level of performance in a compact package, the valves are currently available in two models — CAZA and CBZA.

Both counterbalance valve models offer a 3:1 pilot ratio to suit use in a range of applications requiring high-performance motion control such as mobile aerial work platforms, boom trucks and most load-holding applications.

Features of the 0-Series counterbalance valves include:

  • fits T-163A cavity
  • maximum setting of 6,000 psi (420 bar) and capacity of 7.5 gpm (30 L/min.)
  • compact design to easily fit into applications where space is tight
  • pilot assist allows free flow from the directional valve (port 2) to the load (port 1), while a direct-acting, pilot-assisted relief valve regulates flow from port 1 to port 2
  • pilot assist at port 3 lowers the effective relief setting based on the valve’s pilot ratio, ensuring precise, responsive performance
  • model code CAZA features an atmospherically referenced spring chamber, allowing it to be used in applications with consistently high or dynamic back pressure on Port 2
