Fluid Power Shipments Grow in June 2022

Aug. 8, 2022
The NFPA reports shipments for pneumatics as well as mobile and industrial hydraulics remain up month over month.

The National Fluid Power Association (NFPA) reports the 12-month moving average for pneumatic, hydraulic and total fluid power shipments continued its growth pattern in June 2022. This pattern has existed since February 2021, showing consistently positive demand for fluid power components.

June's year-to-date percent change is 15.5% for total fluid power shipments. The NFPA's raw index data shows shipments for pneumatics as well as mobile and industrial hydraulics were all above those reported in May 2022 which were also above orders in April.

Orders for mobile hydraulics received between July 2021 and June 2022 are at 119.6% of the orders taken July 2020 to June 2021. The mobile equipment market continues to be an area of growth for the fluid power industry due to strong demand for construction and agricultural equipment, among other mobile equipment applications. This segment is expected to stay positive in the coming years as well with several infrastructure projects taking place around the world which will drive demand for mobile equipment and the components which are used within it.
