Proportion-Air QB3 Pressure Control Valve Benefits High-Flow Applications
The Proportion-Air QB3 proportional electropneumatic pressure regulator provides pressure regulation for high-flow applications in a single, compact unit.
Key features of the QB3 include:
- monitoring output pressure for closed loop control
- accuracy of 0.5%
- ability to monitor flow rates up to 30 SCFM
- compact package with flexible mounting options.
All-in-One Unit for Pressure Control
According to Proportion-Air, its QB3 pressure control valve is a complete electronic pressure regulating package in a single unit. It is comprised of a pilot unit with two solenoid valves, closed loop electronic controls and an internal volume booster.
QB3 has an internal pressure transducer which montiors the output pressure for closed loop control and provides a monitor signal representing active pressure, the company explained in its press release announcing the launch of the pressure control valve. To achieve the desired pressure, the analog monitor signal is constantly compared against the command signal.
Capable of regulating pressures up to 150 PSIG, the QB3 pressure control valve provides accuracy of 0.5%. The valve works with flow rates up to 30 SCFM, benefitting various high-flow applications.

Flexible Mounting and Customization to Suit Specific Application Requirements
The QB3 pressure control valve can be mounted in almost any orientation with the exception of full-scale pressures below 10 psi, then it must be mounted in a vertical orientation.
Manifold mounting the valve enables users to improve space efficiency by mounting it on a high-density space saving manifold. The company said all models of the valve can be manifold mounted including those for vacuum control, vacuum through positive pressure, absolute pressure, and standard gauge pressure.
Several modifications can be made to the valve as well to help further customize it to application needs. Available options include customizable pressure ranges, manifold materials, command and monitor signals and many others.
The valve can also specify nearly any pressure unit of measure such as psi, bar, and inches of water column.
