Rockwell Automation FactoryTalk Motion Analyzer Software Simplifies Design of Motion Systems
Rockwell Automation has developed its FactoryTalk Motion Analyzer software to ease the development of motion control systems. Users can select, analyze and validate system components, helping to ensure an optimized solution is created which meets application requirements.
Features of the FactoryTalk Motion Analyzer software include:
- component library for application analysis
- choice of pre-built or blank application templates
- ability to assess Rockwell and partner motion technologies.
Software Eases Motion System Design Process
The FactoryTalk Motion Analyzer software aims to simplify the design process for motion control systems. Users can select, analyze and validate their designs within the software, enabling multiple iterations to be assessed if necessary before spec'ing a physical product.
Systems comprised of Rockwell motion products, including Kinetix motors and drives and PowerFlex drives, can be developed in the software, as well as those with motors and gearboxes from Rockwell Automation Technology Partners.
The software is designed to be intuitive, helping ease use and development time for customers. This is aided by inclusion of a comprehensive component library which the company says enables analysis of a wide-variety of user-defined applications. Pre-built application templates can be utilized or users can start with a blank template and add components and motion profiles as desired.

Analysis tools included in the software provide a better understanding of operating conditions in which the motion control system may be used. With this information, users can ensure they create systems capable of meeting and surviving within these conditions. They can also be assured they do not oversize components, which can inhibit efficiency, and design long-lasting systems.
