AMR134x Switch Sensors Provide High Levels of Sensing for Pneumatic Cylinders

Aug. 10, 2023
The AMR1341 and AMR1342 sensors from MultiDimension Technology Co. utilize AMR technology for high levels of pneumatic cylinder position sensing.

MultiDimension Technology Co., Ltd. (MDT) has developed the AMR134x series of anisotropic magnetoresistance (AMR) switch sensors which can be used with pneumatic cylinders.

Features of the AMR sensors include:

  • accurate switching points
  • 1kHz high-speed operation
  • ultra-compact package
  • range of supply voltages from 1.6-5.0V.

AMR Technology Provides High Level Sensing

The AMR134x series includes the AMR1341 and AMR1342 sensors which were designed specifically for pneumatic cylinder position sensing in industrial applications. These sensors combine magnetoresistance and CMOS (complementary metal-oxide semiconductor) technology to provide high levels of sensitivity and speed while using less power.

Inclusion of MDT's AMR technology with the CMOS signal processing in the same package enables precise magnetic sensing in a single, compact device. The sensor is capable of providing fast response, accurate switching points as well as thermal stability and immunity to stray field interference which ensures its durability in a range of applications.

The sensors are able to operate at low voltage levels, drawing only 40 μA. Two sensitivity settings are available for use with different magnet types and pneumatic cylinder stroke lengths.

A wide voltage rang of 1.6-5.0V enables use in various types of applications.
