Ouster CTO Mark Frichtl demonstrated the company’s REV7 lidar family and applications in which they can be used at CES 2023. As an example, Luke Renner, Cyngn’s director of marketing, explained that components like Ouster’s lidar were used to develop Cyngn’s DriveMod Kit, which can be attached to the Columbia Stockchaser.
Lidar sensors are an important component of the many autonomous systems which are becoming more common in various applications. Autonomy is impacting various vehicle and machine systems, including hydraulics and pneumatics as it can be a driver for the movement of these systems. Several fluid power companies are working in this area due to the implications it will have; Danfoss Power Solutions is among them and works with Ouster as part of its autonomous system developments.
Other technologies on display CES were Ouster’s DF Series LiDAR for automotive detection and Ouster Gemini, a cloud-backed digital perception platform for crowd analytics and security.
