Continued Investments in Danfoss PLUS+1 Software Capabilities Aids Machine Design
Since it was first introduced in 2004, the Danfoss Power Solutions PLUS+1 platform has evolved into an ecosystem of hardware, software, services and tools to aid the development of control systems.
Features of the platform include:
- PLUS+1 GUIDE, a platform that allows software engineers to quickly build and customize complete electrohydraulic subsystems and vehicle control solutions;
- PLUS+1 Service Tool, a customizable service application that makes it easy for field technicians to update, service, and troubleshoot machines;
- PLUS+1 programmable and compliant hardware to complement the software offerings, ensuring all Danfoss electronic and electrohydraulic products integrate seamlessly in the control system.
With these features, customers can accelerate their development cycles to help bring new products to market faster. Another benefit of the platform is its ease of use, which can also reduce development time for design teams.
“It’s easy to use because it has pre-programmed function blocks and application libraries that simplify implementation even for those who are not highly experienced software developers,” said Paola Lugo, Vice President, Software, Danfoss Power Solutions.

“We have continuously been adding things, not only in terms of the software, but [also] bringing in hardware from the entire Danforth portfolio and PLUS+1 partners, so that, as Paola mentioned, it is easy and fast to get to market with a vehicle control system,” added Joe Mather Sales Director, Connect and Control Solutions at Danfoss Power Solutions.
In this first of a two-part series, Lugo and Mather discuss the benefits PLUS+1 can provide to machine development as well as the trends driving increased use of software with off-highway hydraulic systems.
