Software Remains Integral to Hydraulics and Machine Development
Software has become an integral part of many machine designs — both as a tool to aid their development as well as a component within machinery to enable their operation. Its use is only likely to grow in the coming years as automation increases as does the desire to get more functionality out of mobile equipment.
“Software, and all the benefits that you can get from software, is here to stay, and it's only going to accelerate the pace of technology [and] functionality development,” said Joe Maher Sales Director, Connect and Control Solutions at Danfoss Power Solutions. “Everyone is trying to find new ways to be more productive on the job site and…not only [provide] ease of use for the operator but also the ability to get the operator out of dangerous types of situations.”
The PLUS+1 platform from Danfoss is an example of such a software tool in the market. PLUS+1 offers a whole ecosystem of software, hardware and additional tools to help create control systems which meet the productivity, ease of use and automation requirements of today’s off-highway equipment.
Danfoss’ deep knowledge of hydraulic systems and off-highway machinery is combined with that of highly skilled software developers to create the PLUS+1 ecosystem and “serve our customers in the best possible way to help them achieve their targets,” said Paola Lugo, Vice President, Software, Danfoss Power Solutions.
