Summary

Smarter Load-Holding and Energy-Efficient Motion Control Solutions for Modern Hydraulic Machinery

Building on the success of our first session, this second webinar dives deeper into the world of motion control. Designed for engineers developing next-generation mobile machinery, Mastering Motion Control 2.0 explores smarter, more energy-efficient alternatives to traditional load-holding solutions. Discover how Rexroth’s expanded motion control portfolio supports smarter system design, and how to avoid common mistakes along the way.

We’ll start with foundational circuits, using pilot-to-open check valves and traditional counterbalance valves. Then step into the evolution of motion control technology – from advanced hydromechanical valves to electrohydraulic valve solutions. Along the way, we will showcase real-world applications, including excavators, booms, and gravity lowering - highlighting how modern valve designs improve stability, reduce energy consumption, and enhance control.

Whether you’re optimizing an existing platform or designing something new, this webinar will provide the tools to move beyond compromise, and into performance.

Key Take-aways:

  • Understand the limitations of traditional load-holding circuits using pilot-to-open check valves and basic counterbalance valves
  • Discover the benefits of advanced hydromechanical valves, including our Check & Metering valves and Hose Break valves for smooth motion and lower energy consumption
  • Explore electrohydraulic valve solutions (e.g. Rexroth E-valve & E-Motion Plus) for software-based metering, pressure compensation, and energy savings
  • Learn how to select size load-holding valves for optimal control, safety, and efficiency
  • Gain practical tips for avoiding common mistakes in valve selection, mounting, and circuit design
