NFPA Expands its Education Lineup for 2018 Annual Conference

Jan. 26, 2018
The NFPA will expand its learning program at the Annual Conference next month to cover more topics within the fluid power industry. Oh, and the event also takes place Disney World.

The NFPA will hold its 2018 Annual Conference in Orlando Florida next month, entertaining over 150 attendants at “the best place on earth”. Attendants hold a wide range of roles within the fluid power industry, and an eclectic group of community speakers will cover topics from advanced diagnostics and the Internet of Things to global geopolitics.

The conference will be hosted at the Four Seasons Orlando at Disney World Resort. The NFPA negotiated rate is $339 per night. Conference registration opens in the hotel’s Lobby Terrace on Monday, February 19 at 11:00 a.m.

On Tuesday, February 20 at 2:00 pm, members are encouraged to attend an open meeting hosted by the NFPA’s Marketing Committee to meet like-minded professionals in a small, interactive setting. Interested parties should contact Erica Halmstad for more information. It will be followed by an NFPA Future Leaders Network Meeting at 4:00 and a Future Leaders social hour at 5:00. A welcome reception for all attendees, spouses, and guests starts at 6:00.

The NFPA Future Leaders Network Meeting will take place in the Queen meeting room at the Four Seasons Orlando on Tuesday, February 20 at 4:00 p.m.

General Session presentations will begin the next day, with welcome and opening remarks starting at 8:00 a.m. Keynote Chris McChesney will take the floor soon after. Author of the book, “The 4 Disciplines of Execution”, he will present a framework for companies to meet their goals.

The NFPA’s educational program will continue the following day on Thursday after the networking breakfast and presentation of the NFPA Foundation Report. Peter Zeihan will speak about how the global energy perspective is changing, and Joe Ellers from Palmetto Associates will educate salespeople on how to build discipline and fully execute sales. Jeremy Drury will touch on a new topic in the industry, the Internet of Things (IoT), explaining how professionals can create an IoT strategy for diagnostics and other purposes.

Finally, keynote Design Engineer, Tim Eck and Application Engineer, Marcus De Souza from Disney Parks & Resorts, will cover the Current and Future Look at Fluid Power in Animatronics and Amusement Applications.
