HAWE Hydraulics Inc., Charlotte, N.C., has acquired Pacific Fluid Systems, Portland, Ore. The deal will strengthen HAWE's North American presence, as the Munich, Germany-based company moves to strengthen its market share in the U.S. and Canada.
HAWE manufactures hydraulic components and controls, including pumps and valves, for the mobile, industrial and renewable energy markets. It has been operating in Charlotte since 1997, making the U.S. its third largest market behind China and Germany. The addition of Pacific Fluid Systems, an engineering, design and service company which has been distributing HAWE components for decades, will help to grow its North American market.
Pacific Fluid Systems was started in 1977 by Stan Nelson. The company provides hydraulic solutions mainly to two markets: wood products and mobile OEM.
“We strongly believe that searching and finding the right balances enables sustainable success,” says Karl Haeusgen, CEO of HAWE Hydraulik, SE. “Making PFS a part of the HAWE family is a logical step in our quest to balance growth and continuity. By combining excellent people with excellent products and a loyal customer base, we are taking a huge step toward extending our market presence and brand recognition in North America.”
Consisting of 14 subsidiaries and a workforce of 2,100, the HAWE Group generated revenues of €320 million in 2012.
