He shares our ambitions and passion for the mobile and industrial hydraulics business and will, together with the PSLT, develop the business further with our customers."
Alström Leaves After 12 Years with Danfoss
Exiting president Alström joined Danfoss in 2012 to lead the organization then known as Sauer-Danfoss as President and CEO. Per the company, his leadership since joining has helped transform Danfoss Power Solutions into a global leader in mobile and industrial hydraulics as well as electrification technologies.
Alström, like the greater Danfoss organization, sees the continued value and development opportunities within the hydraulics segment. In conversations with Power & Motion over the years his passion for the industry has been evident. In our most recent interview with Alström, he expressed his excitement about everything Danfoss is working on currently as well as the amount of new technologies it is developing and launching which he said are the most the company has done to date.
Learn more about Alström's views on the hydraulics industry in some of our previous interviews with him below.
The acquisition of Eaton's Hydraulics Business in 2020 demonstrates the growth opportunities he and the company see in this segment of the fluid power industry as well. Through this acquisition Danfoss was able to bring industrial hydraulics technologies into its portfolio, and is a segment where it sees continued growth opportunities. As such, it is investing in technological developments in this area, many of which were highlighted during the company's distributor meeting held in September 2024.
"Danfoss has transformed tremendously since I joined 12 years ago, especially in the last 5 years," said Alström. "Merging the Eaton Hydraulics team with the Power Solutions team has been the highlight of my career. Many former Eaton colleagues said it felt like coming home, making the integration much smoother, and the rest of us felt the same way. Together, we’ve solidified our role as a leader in hydraulics, which remains core to Danfoss. Danfoss is a very special company, and I will always value our clear purpose, long-term strategic vision, and strong DNA and culture."
"I would like to thank Eric for his dedication, strong leadership, and great contributions to Danfoss and Danfoss Power Solutions over the past 12 years. We wish Eric every success in the future and Daniel all the best in his new role," said Fausing.
