Rota Engineering LL Series Transducer Offers Flexible Mounting Options
The independent mount LL Series transducer from Rota Engineering is designed for use in harsh environments. Its ultra-robust design enables use in these applications where monitoring by standard, in-cylinder position transducers is undesirable or not possible.
Key features of the transducer include:
- high vibration rating
- IP69K OPEN FACE M12 and Deutsch connectors
- absolute signal
- -30 to 80 C operating temperature range
- optional velocity option available in CANbus signal

Flexible Mounting Eases Installation
Since first launching the LL series transducers, they have been utilized in a range of construction and agricultural applications in which durability is required. The transducer shares much of the same technology as Rota's internal LA series which has proved its capabilities in the field over several years.
The transducer's independent mount design makes it easy to create custom solutions as it can be added during production of a machine or at a dealer location depending on the machine specifications as well as level of control or automation required. Mounting of the transducer can be direct to the machine or mirror the pin-to-pin dimension of the cylinder which requires monitoring.
Providing flexibility in how the transducer is mounted eases installation because it can be placed where it will most easily fit. Rota said in a press release about the LL series that integration costs are also lowered with this transducer design because cylinder machining costs are eliminated.
Rota can also tailor the open and closed transducer body center to match existing machine or cylinder geometry, helping provide even more customization. The company says the transducer's ease of installation benefits its use for rapid prototyping, small batches as well as production volumes.
The LL series is also field replaceable, benefiting customers by helping to reduce their downtime and maintenance costs.
Rota's LL series transducer can meet various stroke lengths and provide current, voltage as well as digital output signals.
The LL series transducer will be among the products Rota Engineering displays at IFPE 2023, booth S81907. Visit our IFPE channel for even more content related to the show.
