Voting is now open for the 2024 EDGE Awards which celebrates the latest products, technologies, systems and services within the design and engineering industry. Through this awards program, Power & Motion — in conjuction with affiliate brands Machine Design, Electronic Design, Microwaves & RF, Laser Focus World, Military + Aerospace Electronics, and Vision Systems Design — aims to highlight the many innovations taking place in fluid power, automation, software and more.
Voting begins July 15 and can be cast here for the 2024 EDGE Awards. A winner and two honorees will be chosen for each category and winners will receive a physical award commemorating their receipt of a 2024 EDGE Award. Voting concludes on August 9.

Automation and Controls
Applicable technologies include PLC, SCADA, and networks and software used to manage control systems and data.
Communication
Applicable technologies include wireless and wired systems, modules, and software that facilitate communication between chips, modules, and systems.
Computing Hardware, Software and Systems
Applicable technologies include edge computing devices and interfaces, as well as the compute, storage, and communication modules and systems used to analyze data and assist design engineers.
Electronic Components and Enclosures
Applicable technologies include passive electronic components like capacitors, transistors or diodes, connectors, cables, antennas, and switches. Also included in this category is the hardware meant to hold controls and electronics as well as monitor the temperature, pressure, humidity, etc. inside the enclosure.
Machine Learning/Deep Learning
Applicable technologies include hardware and software that incorporates, or is designed to, improve product quality, supply chain management, and production throughput.
Machine Vision & Inspection
Applicable technologies include cameras, sensors, lenses, filters, lighting, frame grabbers, software, and systems.
Robotics & Motion Control Components
Applicable technologies include various robot types, such as single- and multi-axis robots, automated guided vehicles (AGV) for assembly, product inspection, and supply chain use as well as the software related to robotics including fleet management, and robot operating systems. This category also includes pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric motion control components and systems such as actuators, cylinders, ball screws, motors and drives, and accessories such as fasteners, bearings, belts, and chains, as well as fluids, filters, and compressed air systems.
Optical & Photonics
Applicable technologies include adaptive optics, optical materials (such as metamaterials), optical coatings, precision optics, micro-optics, lenses, mirrors, aspheres, prisms, and freeform optics. This category also includes lighting products for machine vision applications. Additional products featured in this category include products for the creation of chips, printed circuit boards, components, and systems as well as all mechanical and machine tool operations, welding, soldering, and adhesives focused on metal or component joining as well as materials used to fasten and secure components.
Voting is open ONLY to all eligible and qualified readers of Power & Motion, Machine Design, Electronic Design, Microwaves & RF, Laser Focus World, Military + Aerospace Electronics, and Vision Systems Design who work in the engineering community. Ineligible votes from non-qualified participants will not be considered.
